I'll start then. Hi PS cutter. a bit off topic.. Actually, I had distanced myself from PS. Too often I was slowed down when editing. Before that, Studio was my program for small image films. My last activity with PS26 was this image film (appendix) consisting of five sequences (film-in-film/project-in-project). It was a test project for a few experiments. Then a personal health crash followed and set me back. As I said, it is a test project. My problem is: If I shorten or lengthen a subproject in the subeditor, nothing is corrected in the main project. This currently has to be done manually. A time-consuming process. Editing programs from third-party manufacturers prove that there is another way. Are there users with similar experiences? (Help states: The length of the container clip on the main project's timeline is not determined by the length of the nested clip on its own timeline. If you want to match the duration of the container clip to the duration of the nested clip, you must trim it manually.)

added. Here is another TL image of the nested project. The nested ones alternate on the TL. This means I can currently better adapt changed lengths from the subs.

Hello Hansi, For sure there are pros and cons. Basically a nested clip is a container. You would not expect a cardboard box to shrink down or enlarge automatically depending on the amount of apples that are inside it. Some people (including myself) would argue that it's better to have the length of nested clip constant.
Anyway, this feature is broken in PS26.2. Add 3 clips on timeline. Clip #1 is 10 seconds long Clip #2 is 20 seconds long Clip #3 is 15 seconds long Create a nested clip with clip #1 and #2. You get a 30 seconds long nested clip. Double-click it to access its content. Delete clip #2. Nested clip is still 30 seconds long. Unlike with PS25 (for PS26.1 I don't know), the deleted clip #2 is still displayed while playing back nested clip on timeline. It's a bug.

It's a bug...
a bug that will not be resolved?

Hi.
Working with nested projects has become a habit for me. I use this option for all larger sequences. And yes, such a sequence is more or less filled with assets in the subeditor, which inevitably changes the timeline length there. When you return to the main project, the length of this subproject should be updated there. Pinnacle doesn't do that. It was reported to Nick at the time and confirmed by the Devs. Nothing has been changed to date. We have to do this process manually. This is also what Pinnacle suggested. This is the reason why my subprojects (containers) are divided into two TL. No, it's probably not a bug, more an incompleteness.

This forum is evidence of the lack of Interest in the program by the new owners. We would normally have seen news of a new version by now. It does mean that existing bugs etc will not be fixed and workarounds will become the norm.

Hi. Thank you. I had a hint of hope that there could be something positive that I didn't know about. Hope dies last. It means continuing to trim by hand.
