I have Pinnacle 12, 23 and 25 installed on this old Windows 10 i7 computer.
When I buy a new desktop, will the programs transfer using the standard old-computer to new-computer process?
I'm not in the cloud, my backups are on external hard drives.
Great to see familiar moderator names here, TonyP and Saby chief among them. I am still burning from the destruction of so many years of searchable knowledge on the forum murdered by Corel. What a devastating loss.
Thanks Christian Williams Los Angeles

Hi Christian, Good to see you back. The EULA requires that you uninstall on old computer and later reinstall on the new one. PS 23 and 25 can be downloaded from this page : www.pinnaclesys.com/en/landing/download/For PS 12 you need the installation DVD.

For PS 12 you need the installation DVD. You may also need activation keys (depending on how much you intend to do with PS12)
So, before scrapping the old computer, launch PS12 and make a note of your Studio "Passport" number and any activation keys you have (Help -> View Activation Keys)
With care it's possible to re-use them on the new computer; otherwise I believe that some of the old forum moderators (including Saby) had contacts (or privileged access to a tool) for generating new activation keys. The "Regenerate Activation Keys" feature in Studio does not work; the server it needed to communicate with is long since defunct.
What worked here:
Install the legacy version of Studio from its install media while you're connected to the Internet (so the registration can work) When the "registration" dialogue appears, fill it in and register using exactly the same information (name, country and email address) that was used when it was registered on the old computer
If "your mileage" turns out to be the same as mine, the installation should give you the same passport number as you had on the old computer - and you should be able to put the old keys into the "Enter Activation Keys" dialogue to unlock the features you had before.
If you don't get the same passport number, the old keys won't work; hopefully Saby still has the requisite contacts or tool access to generate the keys you need.

I no longer have any contact with anyone at Corel. An employee used to generate keys when needed.

In your old Windows 10 computer you will need to find a file called "pixie files" which I believe it is hidden. You can copy that file into a thumb drive or somewhere else and paste it exactly where you found it into your new computer and you will have all same keys installed into it. I can't recall the procedure but believe someone else may guide you on how to do it. If I have more time later on I will post on how to do it unless someone else told you on how to do it.
